Vanessa Farfán is a Mexican-German artist who lives and works in Berlin.
She primarily uses light as an artistic medium and explores the relationship between perception, reality, and digital technology. Her light installations and objects examine how people perceive and interpret images, spaces, and information in the digital age.
Farfán combines artistic research with scientific questions regarding optics, perception, and artificial intelligence. Her works often create situations in which light, shadow, and visual effects blur the boundaries between reality and illusion.
Her works have been exhibited at venues including the Gropius Bau, Max-Liebermann Haus, Ars Electronica, the Museum FLUXUS+, among others.
In the fall of 2026, his public art installation (Kunst am Bau) titled “geCloud”—a 2-metric-ton glass cloud installed on the new Karl-Gymnasium building in Pasing, Munich—will be unveiled.
